LETs Trades at No.15
1st February 2013
It’s Friday evening and I thought I’d better get a reminder out about the LETs meeting here at No.15 on Wednesday, 6th February 2013 – just 5 days away. And remind members to bring something to trade.
Sometimes a simple Cree deal can save me lots of time, money and trouble.
The benefits of LETs are many and I seem to manage to find just about anything that I might want, as well as find someone else who is willing to buy what I have whether it be goods or services.
I’m not just talking about books and DVDs. People are willing to trade just about anything, clothes, accommodation, computer debugging and more. We have members willing to make fresh, homemade cakes and deliver them to boot.
We don’t have to just trade items. In fact, trading with our skills can be even more valuable. With the real unemployment for Britain as a whole back in April 2012, being more than 3.4 million there are a lot of people who have a lot more time on their hands, than they do money. Example: An out-of-work mechanic can work out a deal to fix someone’s brakes and arrange for haircuts for his entire family. Someone who is trying to get a new business off the ground, and has very little time to clean their house, can trade their professional services and arrange for someone to clean their home. It’s really a beautiful thing when you think about it
To prove the point of the comment above ‘Sometimes a simple Cree deal can save me lots of time, money and trouble’ I picked up the camera and starting downstairs in the shower room I made my way through the house clicking away to see what trade is on show at my home today that I could show you – hopefully inspiration and food-for-thought!
